February is Black History Month

Conservation and Black History Month

As an African-American park ranger, I think my presence doesn’t so much serve as an inspiration for other African-Americans to choose the National Park Services and a dream about being a park ranger. I think it’s greater value is in that I can show young people that they have greater [career] choices than they ever dreamed possible [in science and environmental disciplines].
