A Progressive Counterweight to the Conservative ALEC Agenda

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is a powerful group of conservative U.S. state legislators and private sector representatives that drafts state-level legislation. Then it shares these model drafts among state governments so they may be easily replicated. ALEC prides itself on advancing free-market enterprise, limited government, and federalism at the state level. ALEC is largely funded by special interests groups.
