The Big Picture: The Medicare Solution, with Robert Reich

An 11th installment has been added to ‘The Big Picture: 10 Ideas to Save the Economy’ with Robert Reich: ‘The Medicare Solution.’

Robert Reich says, “You may have heard that Medicare is running out of money and needs to be pared back. Wrong. Medicare isn’t the problem. In fact, Medicare is more efficient than private health insurance. It’s the solution.”

  • Mr. Reich is correct: for-profit health corporations are all about profits, not health. Remove the corporations, which provide nothing to heal the sick or injured, and costs go way down. Corporate CEOs making hundreds of millions per year can then accept administrative/managerial jobs paying $100K, while costs for marketing, lobbying, administration of different plans, etc. are all eliminated. No more profit-driven health care decisions, just total focus on health and wellness – clearly a more positive system for everybody.

Chester

Chester is a scruffy little Bichon dog, with a congenial Napoleon Complex, and stars in "The Chester Chronicles." He sometimes reports independent Canine News -- NO corporate treats accepted, NO corporate bias. Woof!

Graffiti Girl

Graffiti Girl (GG) is curator at JoAnnChateau.com. She's progressive to the core, and easily blown away by serendipity and/or good food. (OK, GG is really JoAnn.) GG's posts signal that news or content from another website is a "must-see" and "must-remember."
