President Obama Addresses Roseburg, OR Mass Shooting

The President was heart-wrenched as he talked about today’s mass shooting in Roseburg, Oregon. And his disgust, with a Congress that blocks reasonable gun control measures, was palpable.

The President Delivers a Statement on the Shooting in Oregon

Somebody, somewhere, will say Obama politicized this issue. Well, this is something we should politicize. It is relevant to our common life together, to our body politic… I’d ask the American people to think about how they can get our government to change these [gun control] laws, and to save lives, and let young people grow up. And that will require a change of politics on this issue… ~ President Obama

A good first step is prohibiting anyone taking SSRI drugs (Prozac, Ritalin, Zoloft, etc.) from purchasing or owning a gun. Too often people taking this class of drugs harm themselves or others.
