The History of 100 Years of Women’s Health Care at Planned Parenthood | Now This

Planned Parenthood is 100 years old. Its history is fascinating! “100 years of care, education, and activism have changed everything.”

“This is the little-known history behind America’s most famous health care provider – thanks to Lena Dunham, Mindy Kaling, Amy Schumer, Tessa Thompson, Meryl Streep, and more.” ~ Now This

correction: meant to include in ( ) that people were taken by eugenics, not have it separate (facepalm). I really need sleep now…

wow–great info (and it didn’t shy away from the eugenics thing, which is totally hot button with naysayers). But tons of people were taken by it…and some still are, dammit.

Wonderful info–I’m sick of pro-lifers making it sound like it’s just an instant-abortion factory. You don’t like abortions? Then make birth control free and easily accessible, and abortion won’t be necessary. Wish they’d think of that…grr…

    • JoAnn Chateau

      Exactly.

It’ unclear what motivates pro-lifers. If they really believed in the sanctity of life, wouldn’t they also be against capital punishment and war? Why would they cut food stamp programs that help poor children?

      • TheChattyIntrovert

Yeah, I have a hard time reconciling that and always have.

Thanks for sharing, JoAnn. I stand with Planned Parenthood. No woman is free unless she has control over her own body. How many of us women are truly free?
