The 2020 Presidential Race? America Falls in Love With “Aloha.”

It is delightful to report that a Libertarian, Charles Peralo, predicts Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) will be the 46th President of the United States. At the same time, Peralo maintains that she won’t get his vote. Thus, we have an impartial opinion.

Peralo cites the many Gabbard stregths in order to support his argument:

  1. She courageously and wisely supported Bernie Sanders (OK, Peralo left out “courageously and wisely” — he hates Sanders!)
  2. She’s young
  3. She’s pro-gun
  4. She’s a Hindu girl (a couple of “firsts” here)
  5. She’s well known
  6. She’s knows how to cross the aisle
  7. She’s a war veteran and has sound foreign policy

How satisfying that Peralo’s opinion largely agrees with my own!

A Vision of the 2020 Presidential Race

Here’s the scenario I envision for the 2020 presidential race:

Bernie Sanders will run for President again, most likely as an Independent or 3rd-party candidate. But only if there is no other strong Progressive to do the deed. Sanders, after all, doesn’t have an ambition to be President. His motivation to run for that high office comes from his strength and willingness to sacrifice himself for the love of country and the American people.

Tulsi Gabbard is the only Progressive who matches Sanders’ conviction, dedication, strength, and courage. Like Sanders, she is unafraid to tackle controversial issues and allows criticism to roll off, as she remains calm and steadfast.

Unlike Sanders, Tulsi has great hair!

My guess? Bernie is yearning for Tulsi to step up to the plate. As the most popular and influential politician in America, Bernie will support her with everything he has — including his invaluable, untouchable email list.

After four years of a Trump/Pence White House administration, the American people will be salivating for a candidate who has savvy political experience and a decorated record of serving his/her country — as long as that candidate is neither a Republican nor an establishment Democrat.

Tulsi fits the bill. She can run as either a true progressive Democrat or as an Independent. Bernie will help her. America will fall in love with the spirit of “Aloha.”

Atrocious. She voted for the GOP bill to ban Syrian refugees, voted against the Progressive Caucus budget, voted against cuts in defense spending, voted against condemning Bashar al-Assad’s human rights violations, and didn’t support raising the minimum wage to $15/hr (maybe because she’s taken $17,000 from Wal Mart’s PAC. Furthermore, she’s also not ‘white’ (half Samoan) and not a Buddhist but Hindu and is a defender of the right-wing anti-Muslim Hindu bigots BJP in India. And on top of all that, her town halls are tightly controlled — all questions and questioners are screened in advance — and she refuses to do debates.

So if Gabbard somehow became a presidential, all of this garbage would come to light and her candidacy would likely self-destruct since she refuses to undergo any kind of serious public scrutiny.
