Amen for Alternative Media | 34justice

Ben Spielberg responds to a Politico article that says the “media bubble” is caused by an overabundance of Liberal views. What about Establishment views? Spielberg shows they are over-covered in the mainstream media…

Amen for Alternative Media | 34justice

“…The [Politico] article is wrong to imply that an underrepresentation of Republicans is the problem.  The actual problem is the mainstream media’s overrepresentation of Establishment viewpoints – from both major political parties – and its marginalization of economic- and social-justice viewpoints…” ~ Ben Spielberg

  • Remember back during that seemingly-endless campaign of 2016? Turn on the television, and who did you see? Trump .. Trump … and more Trump. Hillary? Oh yeah, whenever she did something that was deemed a sign of weakness or when something came up about Benghazi, or her email server. But Trump was covered non-stop for over a year.

  • This is a very useful post. We can’t even rely on something as cultured and respectable as The Atlantic for a lack of bias any more. Took a quick look at your list. I would highly recommend Robert Parry’s for investigative skills and I would not trust Al Jazeera on Syria (I check them from time to time and find total anti-Russia bias there), being Dakar-based and Sunni. Assad is Shia. They seem to be financing and arming so-called “moderates” who are alongside al-Nusra and al-Qaeda in fighting Assad. Parry exposed Reagan’s Iran-Contra scandal and won Harvard’s I.F. Stone Award for excellence in investigative reporting in 2015. He explains the Syria situation as well as anyone on the planet. I like Truthdig, and Truthout, and will check out the rest of the list. Can always use good sources.
