John Coleman Said Global Warming Is the Greatest Scam in History

John Coleman, American TV weatherman and founder of The Weather Channel, is a climate skeptic. His long-standing role as a weatherman gave him a veneer of expertise, at least in the eyes of the average layperson in his audience. Coleman’s climate remarks have often been quoted in order to bolster climate denial arguments.

However, Coleman’s climate statements are FALSE. Weathermen, even meteorologists, are not in the same class as climate scientists — whose observations are based on highly-specialized empirical research. Some opinions carry more weight than others.

“Global warming: It is a hoax. It is bad science. It is high-jacking public policy. It is the greatest scam in history.” ~ John Coleman

In one accord: “Go Green!”

    1) Meteorologists study short-term WEATHER changes and patterns, climatologists study long-term CLIMATE trends.

    2) Not all weathermen/women and those who report weather news are meteorologists.

    3) By far, most meteorologists accept the reality of climate change and that it is anthropogenic (i.e. human caused) – see: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2015/04/14/study-broadcast-meteorologists-increasingly-convinced-manmade-climate-change-is-happening/

    4) John Coleman is either incredibly ignorant, or he is purposely supporting the denialist agenda.

    Case closed.

Hmm. Maybe getting paid to “think for himself” and feel important.

JoAnn, John Coleman will probably not be around when the so-called scam screams for attention. I wonder what he says to his children and grandchildren, if he has any, behind closed doors. They will have to live with the shame and anger of his irresponsible and immoral stance.

It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall. He may believe his stance. Propaganda, brainwashing, repetition, etc. actually works.
