A Political Party Owned & Operated by One Candidate

Just a curation of resources on the Brazile Bombshell…

The Brazile Bombshell

The Brazile Bombshell exploded in Politico the other day.

Inside Hillary Clinton’s Secret Takeover of the DNC
“…I had promised Bernie [Sanders] when I took the helm of the Democratic National Committee after the convention that I would get to the bottom of whether Hillary Clinton’s team had rigged the nomination process, as a cache of emails stolen by Russian hackers and posted online had suggested. I’d had my suspicions from the moment I walked in the door of the DNC a month or so earlier, based on the leaked emails… I at last found the document that described it all: the Joint Fund-Raising Agreement between the DNC, the Hillary Victory Fund, and Hillary for America…”
~ Donna Brazile

We already knew Clinton funneled money from state DNC chapters into her personal campaign. Politico reported that in May, 2016:

Clinton Fundraising Leaves Little for State Parties
“…The venture, the Hillary Victory Fund, is a so-called joint fundraising committee comprised of Clinton’s presidential campaign, the Democratic National Committee and 32 state party committees. The setup allows Clinton to solicit checks of $350,000 or more from her super-rich supporters at extravagant fundraisers…”
~ Kenneth P. Vogel and Isaac Arnsdorf

Why did Brazile wait until now to share this latest revelation? The Politico piece is an excerpt from her book, Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House, which releases November 7, 2017.

Cenk Uygur’s Commentary on Brazile’s Admission:

“Donna Brazile is airing out some dirty DNC laundry. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down.” ~ The Young Turks

Elizabeth Warren Agrees the 2016 Democratic Primary Was Rigged:

Perhaps Elizabeth Warren knew, or suspected, all along that the 2016 Democratic Primary was rigged. That could explain three things:

  1. Why Warren did not run for President
  2. Why Warren did not endorse fellow-progressive, Bernie Sanders
  3. Why Warren did not endorse Hillary Clinton until after she gained the nomination

Definitely a highly promising development. I admit to being somewhat surprised. I had come to view most Democrats as pretty gutless.

    • JoAnn Chateau

Yes, I hope it may fulfill that promise. Yesterday, Brazile’s Bombshell was debunked… and then the debunk was debunked.

I’ll post an update on what I’ve seen. (Have a feeling it won’t be the last!)

JoAnn, what Bernie’s supporters suspected during the campaign has finally been brought to the light. Trust lost is not easily regained.

    • JoAnn Chateau

It’s just as well Bernie keeps his cool, because the media is now saying the Clinton/DNC memo is specifically refers to only the General election (apparently, all candidates sign such an agreement).

I hope Brazile did not make a big mistake – that would be humiliating for her. But I can only imagine she was very careful in her investigation.

More of the story will roll out. The progressive news networks will figure out what actually happened and tell us.

This part of the story broke on Friday (of course!), so we’ll probably need to wait until Monday to learn more.

  3. Robert A. Vella

Uygur is 100% correct. No one could have stated it better.

    • JoAnn Chateau

Yes. Cenk’s commentary is right on.
