The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is expected to announce the dissolution of Net Neutrality protections on December 14, 2017. In response, Net Neutrality supporters are staging a nation-wide protest at Verizon retail stores on Thursday, December 7.
Why is Verizon spotlighted over the other big Internet service providers? The current FCC Chairman, Ajit Pai, formerly served Verizon as Associate General Counsel. The protest also emphasizes how corporate interests have infiltrated U.S. government agencies.
“On December 14, the FCC will vote on whether or not to roll back Obama-era policies protecting a free and open internet. In fact, during yesterday’s announcement of the upcoming vote, the FCC neglected to mention the historic 22 million comments on the issue, the majority of which were opposed to its rollback.
In response, protests are being held on December 7 at Verizon retail stores across the country. The protests were organized by Demand Progress, Fight For The Future, and FreePress Action Fund…”

Why not join the cause?
Question: Under the proposed bill that will end Net neutrality, would it be legal for an ISP to continue Net neutrality for its customers?
Yes. Because the new law would not end Net Neutrality, per say, but it would remove regulations that protect NN. Everyone is afraid the big ISPs will take advantage.
I understand, JoAnn, thank for the clarification.
I wish I could be there – if the protests weren’t 12,000. Best of luck.
We appreciate your presence in spirit. Thanks!

I wonder why I hadn’t heard anything else about this? 😉
Not reported on MSNBC!?! 🙂
Thanks for the info JoAnn. I grabbed a bit of this with Press This and posted it on my blog.
